Scope
This Privacy Policy describes the ClipVault Chrome extension and this ClipVault product website. It explains the data the extension processes to capture and manage clipboard text, the data stored in the browser, explicit device-to-device sharing, license activation, and website demonstration preferences.
The product does not implement a ClipVault user-account sign-in system. Purchasing and license delivery use a secure checkout and licensing service.
Information handled
Clipboard records
When capture is active, ClipVault may save copied text together with metadata such as detected content type, source URL, source domain, page title, created and copied timestamps, copy count, word and character counts, workspace, folder, pinned and favorite state, sensitivity and blur state, and version relationships.
Settings and product state
ClipVault stores settings for capture pause, blacklisted domains, Incognito behavior, duplicate handling, cleanup, scrolling, active workspace, sensitive-text detection, local analytics, sequential queues, optional TURN configuration, and license state.
License information
The extension stores the license key, activation identifier when applicable, an installation identifier, validation timestamps, entitlement details, and the most recent validation status in Chrome’s local extension storage.
Clipboard-content handling
ClipVault listens for copy and cut actions on supported web pages. It also uses a Chrome offscreen document to check the system clipboard so it can detect address-bar and native browser-menu copies that do not emit a page copy event.
The watcher ignores empty values and values shorter than two characters. It uses short duplicate guards and suppresses copies initiated by the extension itself. A detected duplicate may be merged, kept, or ignored based on the selected setting.
Normal clipboard history is stored in the browser’s local extension database. It is not uploaded to a ClipVault cloud-sync service because no such service is implemented in the supplied source.
Exceptions are explicit Live Share transfers, optional network relay behavior described below, and a separate license-validation request. ClipVault does not automatically read or store clipboard history on this marketing website.
Browser storage
The extension uses IndexedDB database ClipVaultDB. Its object stores include clips, folders, settings, Trash, workspaces, queues, local analytics, versions, extraction presets, and migration snapshots.
Chrome local storage is used for the saved license record, installation identifier, change timestamps, and clipboard watcher status. Chrome session storage temporarily holds identifiers for selected clips during a Live Share sender session.
TURN server URL, username, and credential values are stored in the extension database in that browser when the user configures them. Users should use a trusted TURN provider and review that provider’s privacy terms.

Incognito capture is disabled in ClipVault by default and is subject to Chrome’s separate extension permission.
Analytics
Extension analytics
ClipVault includes optional local productivity analytics. The shipped default enables local analytics and excludes clips marked sensitive. Users can disable analytics, exclude selected workspaces, change the assumed typing speed, or reset local analytics.
The recorded metrics can include clips captured or reused, favorite clips reused, characters pasted, transformations, completed sequential sessions, and duplicate lines removed. The extension source states that these analytics do not leave the device.
Website analytics
No third-party analytics integration is activated in this website build. Optional event hooks are prepared for future use. If non-essential analytics or cookies are enabled later, this policy and any required consent interface must be updated first.
Payments and licensing
A secure checkout and licensing service handles payment information, license issuance, and customer-portal functions. ClipVault does not receive card details through this website implementation.
The extension sends the entered license key and configured organization identifier to the licensing service’s license-key validation API. When device activation is required, the request can also include the installation label and activation metadata. Periodic validation is scheduled once per day, and the implementation permits a seven-day verified offline grace period after a successful validation when the licensing service is temporarily unavailable.
Review the checkout provider’s privacy information available during checkout for its handling of purchase and licensing data.
Data retention and deletion
Clips remain in browser-local storage until the user deletes them, an optional Auto Cleanup period removes eligible older records, the extension is uninstalled and browser storage is removed, or the browser clears extension data.
- Move individual clips to Trash, restore them, or delete them permanently.
- Empty Trash or clear all clip history from Settings.
- Delete workspaces and folders. Deleting a non-default workspace moves its clips to Personal and removes that workspace’s folders.
- Reset local analytics for the current workspace.
- Deactivate and remove the saved license key from the current browser.
Data security
ClipVault applies browser-local storage boundaries, input validation, transfer size limits, WebRTC transport encryption, checksums, duplicate guards, recipient approval, and optional sensitivity blur. No system can be guaranteed completely secure.
The source does not implement end-to-end content encryption at rest, a “military-grade” encryption system, or a zero-knowledge cloud service. We do not make those claims.
International users
ClipVault is available internationally. When a user chooses to use license activation, payment, Live Share connectivity, a user-selected TURN provider, or email support, the relevant third-party provider may process limited technical, transaction, licensing, or communication data on servers located outside the user’s country. Any such processing is governed by the provider’s privacy terms and applicable data-protection and cross-border transfer laws.
Children’s privacy
ClipVault may be used by people of any age. The extension does not require a user account, and clipboard content is stored locally in the browser. A parent or legal guardian should supervise a child’s purchase, license activation, use of Live Share or a TURN provider, and contact with support, and must provide any consent required by applicable law. Parents or guardians may email sitesculptors25@gmail.com to ask about or request deletion of personal information a child submitted through the website or support channel.
Policy changes
We may update this policy when ClipVault’s features, third-party services, legal requirements, or business details change. The updated version should display a revised “Last updated” date and any additional notice required by applicable law.
